Cancer changed Emma Walker’s life view

A 26-YEAR-OLD Dee Why woman is planning her wedding and running a hair salon with a friend one year after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Dee Why hairdresser Emma Walker spoke to the Manly Daily in June last year after receiving the devastating news at the age of 25.

She wanted to use her diagnosis to alert other young women to the warning signs.

She noticed a lump in late April 2011 and after tests, her doctor gave her the diagnosis on May 9.

Lumpectomy surgery, six rounds of chemotherapy, and 30 bouts of radiation followed.
